Cowboy Boots & Sass La-La Land Crafts

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Hey all! Today my La-La Land Crafts card is 100% dedicated to my wonderful daughter Meadow. When I saw cute little Cowboy Boots Marci, all I could think about was Meadow.

Meadow is a country girl to the core! She has the sass, she loves outdoors and she loves to wear her cowboy boots ALL the time. It doesn't matter what she is wearing... she will make it look good with her cowboy boots.

Making this card was a lot of fun!! The team was challenged to use stencils and background stamps on our cards. So you know me... I went for it! The first thing I did was to emboss the very first layer, 5 x 5 Neenah cardstock, with the Hearts & Harlequins. I couldn't just leave it blank so I colored it, and then went over the whole thing with Gathered Twigs Distressed ink using one of my new brushes (woohoo).

After that, I just cut out some more layers for the rest of the card. I cut out 3 3/4 x 5 for the layer that I used the Wooded Circles Background stamp on. I stamped it down on Neenah cardstock. After I stamped it though, with the Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide ink, I wiped the extra ink all over the cardstock instead of just trying to remove it. I really wanted it to have that actual wood ring look to it.

After this most of the layers are all cut out with other die cuts. I am really diggin the new Nested Large Frame die cuts that I just got. They look so great behind images and give you those extra fun layers.

I am also in love with the Long Flags die cut. It is so much fun and most if not all of my sentiments will fit on it. This one is sticking out from the card a bit, but it makes it fun just like Meadow is.  This sentiment is also so fun and is completely Meadow.

I added these little rhinestone jewels to the card and they were not exactly fitting. So I just cut the rhinestones where they would go on the lower layers but still look like one piece. It looks really cool in person.

You can also see in this photo that I used the Hearts and Harlequin stencils on the blue Nested Frames Large die cuts and on the Scalloped Rectangle die cuts as well. I love the Scalloped Rectangle die cuts but they looked too plain and needed a little something.

Here is a closer look at the layers of the card. You can also see that I put the little rhinestones on Cowboy Boots Marci's boots. Her boots looked a little plain. I wanted to add the heart like her dress. Although, the heart from the Hearts Forever background stamp was going to be too big.

I also had to cut the smaller blue frame from the Nested Frames Large die cuts. I wanted you to be able to see it better and have it stand out even more. Cutting the frame in half and moving it out ever so slightly fixed that problem and still gave it that layered look.

Marci's dress was a really fun part as well. I did the same thing with her dress as I did with the sloth card I made a few weeks ago. I stamped the Hearts Forever background stamp on the dress in a Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink. I had to dry it off with a heat tool, but then I could color it. I colored over the hearts with my Copic markers. I love the way it came out. I also did the same thing to her headband.

The last things I did was to add some ribbon, flowers and of course some sequins. These are probably 3 of my 4 favorite things to put on cards.

The Copic Markers I used today were:

Skin: E000, 00, 04, 11, 21, R20, 02
Hair: E50, 51, 53, 55
Dress: B000, 00, 01, 02, E81, 84, 87
Boots: E31, 34, 37, 97, 99, B02, 01
Heart Background: B000, 00, 01, 02 and Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide Ink
