Various Ink Refills

Various Ink Refills are part of what makes the Copic system truly amazing! All 358 marker colors have a matching bottle of ink. Each bottle will fill a dry marker up to 15 times, depending on the style of the marker. Measuring guides are built into the bottle assuring easy and precise refilling. (see refilling markers for directions)

How many times on average each marker can be refilled with Various Ink Refills:

Copic (original square marker) 9

Sketch: 12

Ciao: 15

Wide: 7

Each bottle of ink has a built-in dropper tip for easy application. If needed, an additional booster needle can be attached for precise refilling. This feature is actually becoming part of the bottle in the new upcoming design for the Various Ink Refill bottles.

The air-tight inner seal will protect your ink from drying out for many years.

When you are done with a bottle of ink you can recycle it. These inks are non-toxic and clean up easy. Yet another amazing reason these markers are amazing!

How can you tell if a marker needs to be refilled?

If you've had the markers for a while and they seem to have a hard time soaking the paper or the brush nibs starts turning white at the tip it is time to refill.

Once you start using your markers frequently you'll find your favorite colors that you use all the time.

Your pale colors and favorite background colors will go dry first because you probably use them the most.

Purchase refills for those BEFORE they go dry, so you don't get caught in the middle of a project with a dry marker. Ciao markers will need refilling sooner than others.

How can you tell if you overfilled your marker?

After  you fill your marker, let it sit for a few moments. This helps the ink  to evenly distribute throughout the body of the marker.

An overfilled  marker will blob on your paper or drop onto your work.

You can either  touch a tissue to the marker tip and suck up the excess ink, or you can  pull the caps off both ends and draw with it for awhile.

Either way, you  need to remove some of the excess ink.
