Dried out Copic markers

Once in awhile, things happen. If a cap gets left off your marker because it didn't get sealed properly or in my case... your daughter leaves it off...  and one nib or both completely dry out.

No worries at all!

First, check your caps!

If the inside of the cap is gunky - clean it then see if it will "click". If it does, you are all good! and move down to Second...

If you have a cap that does not "click" closed, your cap is either old and worn, and you need a new marker.

Second, the easiest solution as most times the inner sponge (yes that is all that is in there) will dry out as well. Change your dried out nib for a new one, refill the marker as normal. I suggest doing this over the garbage can, as sometimes the inner sponge is so dry it will sometimes flow through. Be patient, and just fill.

If you do NOT have any replacement nibs...

You can remove the nib and soak it in a few drops of blender solution until it looks lighter to clear out the pores. (this has not always worked for me, but it will work)

Let the blender evaporate before you put it back in your marker. Color should flow back out in a few minutes.

If both ends are dry then you will need to clean both nibs and refill the marker.
