Hello Spring and Easter with Xyron #403299

Hey all! I have something very fun and exciting to tell you! I am part of the Xyron Maker's Program so I have something super cute to show you! I have made a cute little Easter basket/box with some really easy, unexpected paper mache eggs. I even made a sweet little card.

I had so much fun with this little gift. You will not believe how easy it was to make, even the eggs. Meadow helped me with the eggs and had so much fun I think she covered the rest of the leftover eggs I had haha!

I had so much fun making this, the Xyron Creative Lite is amazing! I actually used just the Creative lite and the Xyron tape runner that you see below in my supply list to make this super cute box, eggs, and the card.

The eggs should we start there? The eggs that look like paper mache were so easy to make!

  1. I used regular tissue paper as you would stick in a gift bag.

  2. I ran the tissue paper (4x5 inches is how I cut it) through the Creative Lite with the 5" insert.

  3. After I finished running the tissue through the Creative Lite, I make sure to burnish the backside to get all the adhesive on there, I have noticed doing this keeps it from being ... hmmm lack of a better word "webby"? is that even a word? haha!

  4. I then took the clear layer of the Xyron adhesive paper off the top and cut the tissue into 1" peices.

  5. I slowly (and I mean slowly) peeled the tissue paper off of the adhesive paper backing.

  6. As I peeled it off I started to stick it to the plastic egg. If you just take the paper off completely, then stick it to the egg it tends to roll up on you and then it is no longer any good. So as you are taking the tissue off, stick it to the egg at the same time. I will be posting a video of this in the next couple of days. I wanted to keep the Spring/Easter momentum going.

  7. but you continue to do this same thing with each piece until the eggs are completely covered the way that you want.

  8. I used white eggs as seen below, but it can also be done with colored eggs as well. Just put white tissue paper over them first to cover the color of the original egg.

Now for this adorable basket or box, whichever you prefer. While I was out looking for the brown paper mache eggs and failed to find them. I did find a cute 3.5 x 3.5 box with the paper mache on the outside. I thought it was just the perfect size for my basket that I wanted to make to hold just a couple of eggs. Meadow and Stephen are getting to the age that they don't need the Easter goodies and are happy just going to church and spending time on what Easter is really about. But I still like to make all the cute fun stuff, so I just make it smaller.

  1. I started out using some cute gingham paper from The Paper Studio.

  2. I cut the gingham down to 3.6 x 3.6 just to give it a little overhang so the corners wouldn't look completely obvious.

  3. I ran the paper through the Cross Over II with the Scalloped Edge die cut from A Muse Studio.

  4. This is where it gets FUN! I then ran the sheets of paper through the Creative Lite

  5. Burnished the back of the adhesive paper... and tada!!!

From there all I had to do was peel off my now stickers and put them on the box. It was AMAZING!!

  1. The little fence that I made was actually a rosette die cut from A Muse Studio.

  2. I cut out some white cardstock using the die cut

  3. Guess what?? More fun!! I ran the cut-out rosette through.. that is right the Creative Lite

  4. I burnished the back of the adhesive paper, so no adhesive webbies attacked

  5. I then cut the rosette at each notch that was supposed to be folded - making the fence.

  6. After all of them were cut out I proceeded to adhere them where I wanted them on the box.

Okay okay... if you could see me right now you would be able to tell I am seriously excited!!!!

Really excited!! This is totally me right now haha! I even ran the RIBBON that is going around the box through the Creative Lite and made a RIBBON STICKER!!! Do you know how much problems I have at times to get the ribbon to stay where I want it to stay... and now with the Creative Lite!!! <GASP> just the thoughts of how easy my life will be wow.... <mind blown>

I will admit.. when I first saw the little Xyron sticker maker I was thinking "what would I even need this for, it just makes everything flat" but it doesn't! It makes everything SO MUCH MORE creative!!! I don't even want to think about how long I would fight with that ribbon to stay on that box if I didn't have the Xyron Creative Lite.

So while having a little ... probably to much fun... I decided to put this Creative Lite to the test! Yes! I stuck that whole big bow through the Creative Lite!! I had a bow sticker! How cool is that!!

The card I wanted to do something just clean, sweet and simple. I wanted something that would make you smile, but also make you enjoy the reason behind the card as well with the beautiful sentiment.

What I really love about the Xyron Creative Lite, as well as that other fun stuff I told you, I was able to put all my layers of cardstock through the Creative Lite. Doing this made it so incredibly easy to put the card together.

For the flowers, I used the Xyron tape runner. I love that thing as well. It is lightweight and smaller than most of the larger tape runners out there, making it easy to handle.

The last thing I added to the card was some fun sequins. Meadow told me I need just a little sparkle on the card. Gotta love that little girl!

I really hope that you enjoyed my project for today. I feel very honored that I was picked to show you this special project by Xyron. I hope that I will get to do it again.

Don't forget to check back for the video on how to make the eggs so we can keep this fun Easter/Spring cheer going.
