Mornings Always Sponsored by.... The Cat's Pajamas & Video

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Hey all! I am so happy to be back here on Tuesday with another super cute Cat's Pajamas stamp set. It is even a challenge that is starting today #355. You won't want to miss this challenge. I loved doing it!

It is a challenge for something that I have never done before and that was to decorate and have a matching envelope! <gasp> I know I am so strange that I have never done that before. I always use clear envelopes. I do this because well... the card becomes the decoration.. and the post office is forced to hand process because the envelopes can't go through their machines. I know I have to pay an extra stamp, but at least my cards get to their destination in one piece.

Here is the one that I made. I loved it!! I think I will be doing this more often!

I will admit I did go a little sideways with my card. I KNEW what I wanted to do with it... but I was having so much fun ... well I just kept on truckin! haha!

I wanted the coffee theme of course. I actually stamped the envelope first to see how that was going to come out. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to make it match if I wasn't able to use my Copic markers. I am excited that it worked! It didn't even bleed completely through the paper.

I used the Copic markers on most everything, except I used Distress Oxide Inks Frayed Burlap on for the envelope and for the top cover to the shaker window.

I wanted to be sure to try and include as many images from the stamp set, plus I had this image of the mad hatter's tea party dancing in my head. Like I said I was having a lot of fun with this card.

I also wanted to use patterned paper to make it look like a newspaper... what do some people do in the morning.. or at least what my parents did (now that there is news on the internet) they read the paper while drinking their morning coffee. I also really love this sentiment that comes with the stamp set.

I also wanted to use the polka dot paper because I for one love polka dots. But I thought it would give it some extra something that it needed. That wasn't it... it still needed something. But what? OH yeah! I didn't put on my lacy ribbon that I like to use. I thought that would be a good barrier between the polka dots and the news print paper. Plus it would add the texture that I love as well.

The shaker card I spared no expense! I actually used some very yummy Guatemalan coffee beans from Starbucks. The card itself smells very tasty! haha! I used some of the shaker card foam from Queen and Co. to get the leverage I needed to fit the coffee beans in there, they aren't exactly small. So the card is a little taller than most.

I then put the cover on the top of the card and it was still missing something. I finally figured it out.. there was no texture on top of the shaker windows of the card. So I was going to use a gel pen to make polka dots... yeah didn't look good at all. So I used Nuvo drops instead. It was much more fun and playful.

The last thing I did was added the little coffee and tea cups and pots to the card. Since I had already used the Nuvo drops I just used them again as glue. You would be amazed at how well that stuff works as glue as well when you are in a pinch!

The Copic markers I used are:

  • Bunny: E30, 31, 33, R20, 21, 22, 43

  • Anything light Green: YG00, 01, 03

  • Pink part of the cup: RV10, 13, 21

  • Anything Blue: B000, 01, 02, 05

  • Anything Orange: YR12, 14, 16

  • Coffee: E33 , 23

  • Pink parts of the cups and pots: R20, 21, 22

  • Grey pot : C1, 3

I really hope you enjoyed my post today, because I really enjoyed this card and making this post :)
