Unicorn Lucy - C.C. Designs Swiss Pixie

I belong to a fantastic Facebook group called Passionate Paper Crafters. It is a LOT of fun being part of the group. They are always getting major stamp companies to sponsor the group with fun giveaways, discount codes and all kinds of things! They are absolutely amazing!

I had the honor of being on their design team for a brief moment, until "Life" took over and threw up on me haha! But I had this one image that I received as a Design Team member and I wanted to still be able to show it, as I would have done on the Design Team. I don't believe in getting something for a job then not doing the job.

I picked to show this week sweet Unicorn Lucy. She is a digital stamp from C.C. Designs. Just a sweet little cutie! I also picked her because my daughter is on a complete unicorn kick.

While making her... I really messed up on her wee little wings... and thought ...yes... you know what I am going to say! I cut her apart , colored part of a second one and popped her up. I love the 3D look gives to not only the image but the whole card overall.

For the background I used some Rubbernecker Stamps Watercolor Paper. I LOVE the stuff!! It is not your normal watercolor paper. This watercolor paper is amazing! It is actually a felt based graphic printing paper. But it has no clay in it like normal watercolor paper that you will find at the store. The colors don't stay on the top of the paper, they actually sink into the paper faster. It works better when using Color Bursts because your colors don't turn out all muddy. Normal watercolor paper has clay in it making the colors stay on the top a little longer so that you can play with them. If you have never tried it you really should! I should do a video on how the two are different!

I also used some different Ken Oliver Color Bursts as well for the background. I just love them, If I can play with them like this. I can make them as dark or light as I want depending on the water/powder mixture. I didn't really do a great job of capturing it.. but the pink is actually a metallic it is so cool!

I was going to put other embellishments on this after I had put the sentiment Happy Birthday on the card. I decided however that it would probably be to much so I stayed with just using some sweet little sequins... and you can never have  enough sequins for sure!

I also used some of the awesome new die cuts from Rubbernecker Stamps. The Nested Rectangle Scallop Die Cut and Nested Rectangle w/ Pierce Die. I have used these two sets of die cuts so much in the last few days it is amazing!

The Copic Markers I used are:

  • Skin: E000, 00,11,21,04, R20

  • Hair: E51, 53, 55

  • Clothes & Unicorn parts: RV23, 04, 00, 02,000, YG0000, 00, 01, 03, Y04, 06, 08, BV00, 02, 04, BG15, 13, 11, 10, B000, 01

  • Inside of ears, E95, 93

If you go over to the Passionate Paper Crafters to see even more inspiration from the design team using CC Design Stamps. If you are not already part of the group, you will want to join in so you can also have a good time and play along with all the great sponsors they have!! Nothing but nice people in the group as well - its great!

Until next time friends!!!
